What others are saying

CarnEvil is Lockdown’s 45-minute creepy-carnival murder mystery. Reviewers on Morty, Tripadvisor and the We Try To Escape blog describe it as unsettling but light on scares.

Reviewers on Morty enjoyed the creepy atmosphere and the many mechanical puzzles, which sit on the easier side. A Tripadvisor reviewer found the set immersive and the puzzles clever, with good flow. We Try To Escape liked the well-detailed scenario and non-linear puzzles, noting there are no jump scares.

The room is small: one Morty reviewer felt crammed with four players, and We Try To Escape thinks it suits two or three. We Try To Escape could also hear noise from outside, had no locker for belongings and ran into two broken items that the game master had to fix mid-game. On Tripadvisor, one family struggled to reach staff by walkie-talkie for hints, and another reviewer was upset by a staff member’s reaction to a prop mix-up.
