What others are saying

Shades of Grey is a film noir murder mystery that blends escape-room puzzles with a deduction-style case file. Reviewers on Morty and Room Escape Artist are very positive about it.

Morty reviewers praise a funny, well-written story that flows across the puzzles, complex and satisfying gameplay that fills the room, immaculate art direction and an enthusiastic game master. Room Escape Artist highlighted the Case File interface, the clarity of the design and the striking greyscale set.

The criticisms are minor. Room Escape Artist felt some paper props and the bulletin board could be sturdier, and both sources mention stairs to reach the venue. Morty reviewers mention a tech or internet hiccup and note that the greyscale look can be a challenge for colour-blind players.
