The Matrix
The Matrix trilogy suggests that everyone has the individual responsibility to make the choice between the real world and an artificial world. You’re the exemplar of free will, fate plays a large role in your adventure.
We have not yet completed a review of The Matrix at Breakout in Niagara. We hope to experience this room soon.
What others are saying
The Matrix is now listed as permanently closed on Morty, which notes it had been refreshed with all-new puzzles in 2025. It’s also missing from BreakOUT Escapes’ current Niagara Falls lineup on WhereToEscape. When it was open, reactions were split: casual players in Google reviews enjoyed it, while enthusiasts on Morty were lukewarm.
On the plus side, Google reviewers called it a blast and praised the staff. One group said the team went out of their way to make the visit accessible for a friend in a wheelchair, and another said the game master tailored the experience to their group. The game was spread across several rooms, which gave groups plenty to explore.
On the downside, Morty’s player feedback leaned negative on gameplay and atmosphere, though it was positive on customer service. We couldn’t find written reviews explaining those opinions. One Google reviewer’s family, playing with children, only made it through part of the game. They were also put off by a tipping prompt that appeared before the game had even started.
