Wine Cellar is one of Escape Manor Toronto’s classic rooms and is still running (the venue’s website now pitches it as a vampire’s cellar). Reviews are generally positive, and players describe it as a solid, spooky but not scary game.
Players praise the detailed set, which really feels like a wine cellar (one blogger’s favourite part was the wall of barrels). Reviewers say the puzzles are cohesive, varied and challenging, flowing smoothly from one to the next, with clues from earlier rooms paying off later. You can play in normal or hard mode, which adds extra puzzles. Friendly staff, a welcoming lounge and the option of having drinks brought into the room also come up often.
On the other hand, experienced players say many of the puzzles will feel familiar, and the final twist is easy to see coming. One blog recommends asking about the difficulty modes up front, since they weren’t told about them. A few players reported a lock that was already open or a puzzle already solved when they arrived, and one group wished the rooms had more light. Newer teams sometimes found it tough to finish in time.
