What others are saying
Escape the Pound is still running, and its big hook is that you have to bring your dog. We couldn’t find many reviews of this room specifically, but the handful we did find on Morty and ReleaseRooms are friendly towards it, mostly because of how unusual the concept is.
Players love watching their dogs sniff around the room hunting for treats and clues, and a couple said including their pup made the outing feel special. Reviewers describe the owner and staff as welcoming and clearly passionate. One Morty player was impressed that the room was clean and well kept considering dogs are in it regularly. Hints are earned by answering dog-themed trivia, which that player found fairly easy.
The criticism is consistent: judged purely as an escape room, it’s rough around the edges. Morty reviewers called both the physical space and the puzzles rough around the edges, described the puzzles as simple with a homemade feel, and said the room “needed some work.” The puzzles are simple enough that you can finish even if your dog isn’t interested, and one player wished the game were longer, though they understood why it’s kept short for the dogs’ sake. Reviewers also recommend bringing treats your dog already knows.
