Back to the Mummy

You and your friends are amateur tomb raiders. As you approached The Greatest Sahirah’s Tomb, one of your friends accidentally touched a cursed relic. The floor broke, and everyone fell into Sahirah’s trap. Sahirah will not let you go until you find her stolen heart scarab amulet. you only have 60 minutes before getting buried alive!

What others are saying

Back to the Mummy is generally seen as one of Roundabout’s easier, family-friendly rooms. Most people describe it as pleasant but modest: a good pick for beginners and families with kids, but less exciting for experienced players.

On the plus side, the We Try to Escape blog liked the clear story and intro video, the creative and realistic props, and the background music, and found the puzzles fun and well tied to the theme. An early Toronto blog, Escape Games Review, pointed out the wall inscriptions and a couple of well-placed tech pieces, and praised the quality of the sets and props in the Roundabout rooms they played, including this one. Players on the Morty app called it a decent beginner room, and one mentioned a few fun “aha” moments.

The most common complaint is that there just isn’t much to it. Reviewers described the two spaces as small, the walls as a bit underwhelming, and the puzzles as few, mostly easy, linear and lock-heavy (with one cipher used twice). Some enthusiasts on Morty felt it was only part of a full game and not great value for the price. Individual players also reported set pieces that no longer had puzzles attached, being able to skip a lock by solving things out of order, and getting hints from an answer booklet, which made it easy to see spoilers.
