Reactor 4
It’s your very first day as a new hire at the Mid-West Nuclear Power Plant. You’re assigned to Reactor 4 – It’s old, dark, and grungy, but, it has an immaculate safety reputation… Until today. Something has gone horribly wrong! Reactor 4 has gone into a Code-Red! Alarms are roaring, bells are buzzing and smoke is filling the plant! Intense to say the least. It’s up to you to fix all 10 systems and stabilize the nuclear core before it’s too late! Do you have what it takes?
We have not yet completed a review of Reactor 4 at Ready Set Go Adventures in Mississauga. We hope to experience this room soon.
What others are saying
Reactor 4 gets a warm reception from escape room fans. It’s point-based: your team earns points by fixing the plant’s systems, and the game moves you along automatically if you fall behind. It isn’t meant to be scary, and players on Morty and the We Try To Escape blog are largely positive about it.
The set is the big draw. We Try To Escape praised the detailed, well-kept decor and the clever use of different levels, and one Morty reviewer singled out the final room as a standout. Players describe the puzzles as challenging, multi-step and tied closely to the nuclear theme, with almost everything run by automated tech instead of locks. Because the room is non-linear and many puzzles need two people, reviewers say nobody ends up standing around, which makes it a good pick for bigger groups. Staff get regular compliments too.
The common complaints are about sensory overload and memory. Some players found the constant alarms overwhelming, especially during puzzles that rely on listening, and one said the room leans heavily on memorization. One pair felt a puzzle needed a stretch of logic too far and suggested going with at least three people. That same pair found it confusing when the game moved them along automatically. One player who had tried another Ready Set Go room found the puzzles and layout very similar, and another wished the opening area had the same polish as the finale.
