What others are saying

The Cursed Temple is Crypto’s oldest room, an Indiana Jones-style temple raid. It’s well liked and often suggested as a good place to start at Crypto, though enthusiasts tend to see it as a step below the company’s newer games.

Reviewers love the set, with its textures, archaeological dig details and cinematic effects, and the lighting that steers you to what matters. The all-tech puzzles often need the whole team, which keeps everyone involved. One travelling blogger called it their favourite of the Crypto rooms they played, and a recent reviewer noted that the room is still well maintained and has even had a puzzle added to keep it fresh.

The criticisms mostly concern story and finish. The Room Escape Artist blog felt the story got lost in the middle and that the final “boss fight” needed more punch, and also ran into muddy sound on its visit. Some players found the last puzzle generic, said the plain rectangular rooms and grey floors took away from the temple feel, and thought it was too easy for experienced teams.
