What others are saying
Omescape now operates as Omventure, and Sinister Circus is still running in Markham. Players on Morty are largely enthusiastic about it, and several describe it as tough and distinctive. Omventure itself bills it as a spooky, high-difficulty game.
The standout feature for most players is that your team is split up at the start and has to communicate to find its way back together, which many found clever and a lot of fun. Reviewers also praised the atmosphere and props, the variety of unusual puzzles, the reasonably interesting story, and an intense final puzzle.
There are some caveats. Players warned that dim lighting and hard-to-hear audio can be tricky, so keep that in mind if anyone in your group has trouble seeing or hearing. Since the difficulty hinges on communication, one half of the team may end up waiting on the other. Individual players also reported a puzzle that wasn’t working, a weak late puzzle and grating circus music, and one found it a little tedious. Another felt circus themes are overdone, and one found it easier than expected.
